Tech Talk Series: Robotic Process Automation Lunch & Learn
Date: March 4, 2020 | 11am - 1pm | Location: DreamPort Facility in Columbia MD
Abstract
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has taken center stage as an excellent method of adding efficiency and revolutionizing the workplace. By automating tedious and manual tasks, RPA permits businesses the space to focus on other important future initiatives and developments.
What is RPA
- The use of software to emulate a human worker performing tasks through the User Interface
- Automation of high-volume, repeatable tasks
- Elimination of "Swivel-Chair" work
- Software acting as hands, feet and eyes… not the brain
What it's not
- Industrial robots
- Talking robots or chat bots
- Digital workforce replacing human beings
Positive Outcomes
- Enhanced Customer Experience
- Improved Process Efficiency
- Increased Productivity
- Quick ROI
- Improved Accuracy
- 24/7 Scalable Workforce
- Job Satisfaction
- Path to AI / ML
Unlocking the AI Opportunity
- Intelligent OCR – Built for semi-structural documents
- Natural Language Processing – Text analysis and entity extraction by capturing intent from unstructured data
- Machine Learning – Move from rules-based to experience-based
- AI in Robotic Operations – Reduced maintenance through ML-based monitoring and health alerts
At the end of the day Enterprise RPA with UiPath leads towards more advanced technology such as cognitive and artificial intelligence that will allow us to do more advanced automations.
